All the talk today is how the latest research from Nielsen shows that- Teenagers Don’t Use Twitter. According to Nielsen and 250,000 US internet rats who took part of the study, only 16% of Twitter users are under the age of 25 compare to 25% in the same age group that use the internet. The study is shocking marketers everywhere that claim that social media tools such as Twitter are just for their children or grand kids.

No Excuses Marketers!

Many marketers previously had an excuse that their older target market wasn’t using social media. However, more and more studies similar to Nielsen Twitter study are making social media harder to ignore for marketers.

  • Wow!
I'm actually quite surprised by the results of this research...I thought it would be the other way around...In any case though I feel like most of us ( or maybe just those around me) are catching up with the social media...

I definitely think there's something about Twitter that makes it more convenient and appropriate for more mature people to use. It almost seems like younger people don't care to communicate that way, while older people may own companies that will advertise using Twitter etc. Not that surprised by this.
  • That is certainly a surprise for me! And gives so much more reason to get out there & do what you can to promote your business! =) It really couldn't be easier... Thanks for sharing.
